Eligibility and Age
No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course until:
- The candidate must have appeared in the NEET exam and secured at least qualified status in the result of the prevailing year of application for admission.
- The candidate must pass Class 12th (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English including practical tests.
- Minimum Percentage Criteria:
- 50% – General Category
- 40% – OBC/SC/ST
- 45% – PwD
- The candidate must complete 17 years of age on or before 31 December of the admission year.
- Nationality: Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and Foreign Nationals are eligible.
Study Programme
The MBBS course extends over 4½ academic years followed by 1 year of compulsory rotating internship.

Academic Details
Attendance
- 75% attendance in Theory
- 80% attendance in Practical / Clinical postings
Students with shortage of attendance will not be allowed to appear in the University Examination.
Internal Assessment
- Minimum 40% marks required in theory
- Minimum 40% marks required in practical/clinical
- 50% aggregate required (Theory + Practical)
Passing internal assessment is mandatory for appearing in university examinations.

Internship
After passing MBBS Final Professional Examination, students must complete 12 months (365 days) of compulsory rotating internship.

Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility to pursue a post-graduate broad-speciality course MD/MS shall be as per NMC regulations.
- The candidate must possess MBBS Degree and must qualify NEET-PG of the prevailing year of admission.

Training Programme
- Training through lectures, seminars, journal clubs, group discussions and clinical meetings.
- Students will participate in laboratory work, research activities and clinical conferences.
- Post-graduate students will work as full-time resident doctors.
- All students must complete thesis research and thesis submission.
- Every institution will maintain an Academic Cell to monitor training programmes.
- All students must maintain a dynamic e-Log Book updated weekly.
- MS/MCh students must record details of surgical procedures assisted or performed.
- Post-graduate students must participate in teaching undergraduate students and interns.
- Training will include preventive medicine and social health aspects.
Academic Requirements
Research Requirement
To appear in final examination, the candidate must complete at least one of the following:
- Poster presentation at National/Zonal/State conference
- Podium presentation at National/Zonal/State conference
- One research paper published or accepted for publication
Course in Research Methodology
- All students must complete an online Research Methodology course.
- Course should be completed during the first year.
- Certificate is mandatory for appearing in final examination.
Course in Ethics
- Students must complete training in Medical Ethics, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
- Course should be completed in the first year.
Cardiac Life Support Skills
- Students must complete training in:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
District Residency Programme (DRP)
- All MD/MS students must complete 3 months District Residency Programme.
- Posting will be in District Hospital or District Health System.
- Training will usually occur in 3rd, 4th or 5th semester.
- Students will continue receiving stipend from their parent medical college.
Eligibility for MD/MS Thesis Guide
A faculty member must have minimum 5 years teaching experience as Assistant Professor or above in the concerned specialty.
Number of Examinations
The university shall conduct not more than two examinations per year with a gap of 4 to 6 months.
Guidelines for MD/MS Examiners
- Examiner must have 3 years experience as Post-graduate Guide.
- Minimum 4 examiners are required.
- At least 2 external examiners must be appointed.
- At least one external examiner must be from a different university outside the state.
Eligibility to Appear in University Examination
Attendance
- 80% attendance in all assigned postings is mandatory.
Internal Assessment
- Quarterly assessment must be conducted.
- Minimum 50% marks required in Internal Assessment.
Thesis Approval
- Thesis must be submitted 6 months before university examination.
- External examiner will evaluate thesis.
- Thesis will carry 20 marks in clinical/practical examination.
