Department of Anaesthesiology
The term Anaesthesia is derived from the Greek words ‘an’ meaning ‘without’ and ‘aesthesis’ meaning ‘sensation’. Thus, anesthesia literally means ‘without sensation’. Anaesthesiology, is a branch of medicine that allows safe usage of medical drugs to induce a reversible state of total or partial lack of responsiveness to surgical procedures, so that they can be carried out smoothly, without causing any distress and inconvenience to the patient. Department Of Anaesthesiology at FH College is a highly integrated, collaborative group of dedicated anaesthesiologists. The department caters to various specialties like General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, ENT & Ophthalmology, Plastic & Micro-vascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neuro Surgery and Paediatric Surgery. The variety of cases integrated with ongoing clinical research & education results in wide ranging expertise in the anesthetic management of patients of all ages.
It’s not the operation itself that’s the concern, it’s the anaesthesia. That’s a bigger risk than operation.
Department of Radiology

Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology
An experienced faculty manages the department of Obstetrics &Gynaecology. The objective is to train the medical students to be able to provide quality care to patients obstetrical &gynaecological problems. The attached teaching hospital is equipped with ultra-modern diagnostic and therapeutic facilities to provide an excellent academic & clinical environment to medical students.
A variety of obstetrical and gynaecological disorders are treated regularly. Facilities to carry out routine OPD & Indoor activities along with 24 hours emergency services are available. Department has facilities for all types of obstetrics &gynae surgeries. Number of camps & community services are organized off and on. Various academic activities like conducting workshops, symposia & CME’s are held on regular basis.

Department of Dermatology
Department of Skin & VD is established to train medical students in the Hospital. An experienced faculty manages the department. The objective is to train the medical students to be able to provide quality care to patients of STDs and Dermatological illnesses. The attached teaching hospital is fully equipped with diagnostic & therapeutic facilities to provide an excellent academic & clinical environment to medical students. Patients with Leprosy, sexually transmitted diseases & various dermatological conditions are treated regularly on OPD and Indoor basis. Minor surgical and cosmetic procedures are performed regularly in the department. Dermatology is the science of giving you confidence to face the world.
Department of Ophthalmology
Department of Ophthalmology provides quality clinical and academic training to undergraduate medical students in the FHMC. An experienced and goal oriented faculty manages the department of Ophthalmology. These faculty members are trained in different sub-specialties of Ophthalmology.
The objectives are to train the students to function as good clinician as well as to assist in the implementation of various National Programs, besides preparing them for higher learning. The attached teaching hospital is equipped with ultra-modern diagnostic and therapeutic facilities to provide an excellent academic and clinical orientation to the medical students. The institution also provides quality eye care services to the general population. Facilities to carry out routine eye operations for cataract, glaucoma, lid and vitreous, retina, and intraocular lens implantation by latest techniques are available.

Department of Psychiatry
State-of-the-art treatment is provided for patients suffering from mental disorders with latest medicines and psychotherapy. The following types of problems are managed.

The department of otorhinolaryngology provides diagnosis & treatment of various ear, nose, throat, head and neck disorders. It provides facilities of micro ear surgery, nose surgery, functional endoscopic sinus surgery & Head & neck surgery. The department is equipped with good audiology unit with quality services comprising of Audiometry, Speech Therapy and hearing Aids. There is a healthy academic atmosphere for free discussion amongst faculty & students.

Department of General Medicine
The Department of General Medicine is fully equipped to treat all types of medical cases including critically ill patients. We have facility to admit patients in the high-tech Intensive Care Units with advanced monitoring facilities. We also have the support of Biochemistry and Microbiology Laboratories which do a large number of tests including special test (Immunological and Hormonal assays), and a Radiology department doing all advanced radiological investigations including interventional radiology. We also have the support of a fully functioning modern blood bank capable of providing blood components. We are supported by super specialty departments like Nephrology, Cardiology and TB & Chest diseases with all facilities for special investigations & treatment.

Department of Surgery trains medical students in the Hospital. An experienced faculty manages the Department of Surgery. The objective is to train the medical students to be able to provide quality care to patients with surgical problems. The attached teaching hospital is equipped with ultra diagnostic and therapeutic facilities to provide an excellent academic & clinical environment to medical students. A variety of surgical disorders are treated regularly. Facilities to carry out routine OPD & indoor activities along with 24 hours emergency services are available. Department has facilities for all type of surgeries including laparoscopy, cystoscopy and upper and lower endoscopy. Number of camps & community services are organized off and on.

The Dental Department provides a quality comprehensive dental care that includes diagnosis, treatment, as well as prevention of the diseases affecting the hard and soft tissue of the oral cavity.
